Welcome to First Grade

Hello!

Welcome Class of 2032!

School Information:

Back to School Night

Mark your calendars for Back to School Night on Tuesday, September 17th, from 6:00-8:00 pm. We’ll start together in the Meetinghouse for introductions and announcements, followed by a chance to meet your children’s teachers and see their wonderful classrooms. Back to School Night is a great opportunity to learn about our academic programs and ask general questions about school life. For questions specific to your child, please contact their teacher directly to schedule a separate meeting. This event is for adults only, but to make it as convenient as possible, we are planning to provide child care for Preschool through 5th grade students.

OtterFest!

Please join us for OtterFest, a fun event for our entire community to spend time together celebrating the beginning of another school year. Mark your calendars and plan to join us on September 20th from 3:30 - 6:30 pm. There will be food and treats for sale, conversation, games, and fun. All students must be accompanied by a caregiver at OtterFest. If your child is enrolled in Extended Day, they must be picked up by a caregiver before attending the event. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Help build community and support your children by participating in life at Frankford Friends School! There are many ways you can support school events, initiatives, and community fun - register to become a volunteer.  Clearances are required for all volunteers who wish to chaperone school events or help in the classroom. PBL & why it is so important to our school:

How first graders celebrate birthdays:

In keeping with Quaker values, birthday celebrations at school are expected to be simple in nature, though we make sure that the birthday child feels extra special that day. Shared treats such as cupcakes, donuts, cookies, or fruit - one for each classmate - are appropriate choices. Caregivers may not provide lunch, favors, gifts, or decorations for the class. Caregivers who wish to give a class gift, such as a book, to a classroom in honor of a student's birthday are

welcome to do so.

Caregivers of students with food allergies are welcome to provide a safe alternative to be kept in the classroom for such occasions.

We have 23 first graders this school year!
